Saturday Night Entertainment.

This years entertainment will be back to the usual format that you have come to enjoy over the years but with one change. We will be setup with our Main Stage on the Oval in Mt St Patricks School. This has come about due to the fantastic patronage that Saturday Nights Entertainment enjoys and the need for more space.

Loacal Northern Rivers food vendors will be set up to cater for your hunger with a healthy choice from Crepes to homemade icecreams. But for those who feel the need to wash down the days dust we will also have a drinks tent setup serving beer and wine.

The evening of entertainment has been put together with the kind help from Twin Towns Clubs and Resorts and The Cooly Rocks On Festival.

Food, drinks and great entertainment will be the order of Saturday and what a lineup of entertainment have we got for you. Center stage from 7pm will be the launch of the Cooly Rocks On festival and promises to be a night of nostalgic Rock N Roll music and dancing, giving all a taste of things to come in June in 2011. The Festival of Speed on Tweed are giving their support to this new event for our region and we hope you do to.

One Man, one hundred different impressions, will the real David Mitchell please stand up?
An amazing impressionist and comedian, David uses his spot on impersonations to place together the most unlikely combinations and the results are priceless! The famous cast includes Roy Orbison, Elvis Presley, Tom Jones, Chad Morgan, Stevie Wonder, Frank Spencer right down to Whoopie Goldberg and Tina Turner

David will be introducing two bands for the evening (not necessarily in this order).

The Chevrolets, one of Australia’s top rock and roll show bands, know how to entertain. Wintersun 2002 “Hall of Fame” winners, this multi award winning group play the songs of the 60s that everybody knows and loves.

Dance the night away or just sit back and enjoy this popular Australian group. The Chevrolets have captured the pumping rhythms from the past to bring those great hits back to life, and have you singing along to be a part of the fun.

Playing songs from artists and bands such as the Beatles, Chuck Berry, Jerry and the Pacemakers, to mention just a few, the Chevrolets entertain and interact with the audience all night long.

“Just The Ticket” cover a huge range of music from the 50s to the present day, catering for all tastes, including classic from The Beatles, Beachboys, Blues Brothers, Queen, Dire Straits, the list goes on. 

Their music never goes over people’s heads – just straight to their feet! If it’s a party they‘ll be Just The Ticket.

Murwillumbah Town

Once the main event has finished in the grounds, the town of Murwillumbah will be hoppin with Rock n Roll bands and dancers from various rock n roll clubs giving us all inspiration to jump onto the dance floor. A number of venues in town will have entertainment and this is a taste of what is available.

The Hows and Whens of Saturday Night

How to get into the Saturday Night entertainment will be via two entry points. Naturally If you have enjoyed the days racing then you are quite welcome to wait until 7pm when the stage comes alive.

If you are comming from town you can enter through the "Main St" gate after the days racing is over (approx 5pm). The gates will be open and you will have to walk over the bridge and into the sports field.

For disabled people or those elderly that love to join us every year I would suggest that you come from Queensland Rd and park in the nearby soccer club field. People will be on hand to guide you and we will have lights for you to find your way to the best seats in town. Remember to bring your fold out chairs and a good appetite as we will have plenty of good food to tempt you.

Bring the kids, Bring Grandma and Grandad, but dont miss it!
