2008 proved to be another night to remember with the prestigious Royal Australian Navy Band is sending its Queensland detachment to Murwillumbah. Throughout its history, the band has performed for thousands of audiences within Australia and around the world. Today, it continues a proud tradition of providing ceremonial, musical and public relations support for the Royal Australian Navy.
Special guest Warren Daly from the Daly Wilson Big Band will entertain you with a spectacular drum solo.
Sophie Serafino will be returning from her European tour to enthrall audiences with her magical violin. Sophie mixes world music with rock, dance, some Middle Eastern influence and classically inspired strings. She will be roving throughout the crowd so don’t miss out on this unique face-to-face experience.

A spellbinding string quartet launched the 2007 Venetian Carnival Mystique. Larger than life roving stilt walkers and singing waiters captivated audiences which gathered around centre stage. The enthralling and theatrical Aerial Aria was a breathtaking combination of fashion, pop-opera and classical music with a contemporary edge. Lead vocalists Jodie-Joy (Multiplay) and Mr Roger Davy (Vavachi), joined aerial artists and dancers for an explosive performance which left 2000 diners mesmerised.

For 2006 the Viva La Musica Orchestra conducted by the talented
Rhonda Davidson-Irwin presented a scintillating orchestral
event of classics,
opera favourites, Celtic melodies and
a Choir of 100 local children performed, jazz classics were sung by
Brett Annabel.

Festival organisers thought that evening could not be outdone but The Passion and the Power in 2005 proved a resounding success and Opera under the Stars brought a level of entertainment to the town never before seen.

In 2004 diners and the general public were entertained royally with a free concert by Barry Singh and his Northern Rivers Symphony Orchestra. The whole town rose as one to the crashing finale of the 1812 Overture by Taichovsky.

Racing by day and fine dining by night. That’s how it’s done at Speed on Tweed. We started something in 2003 with an attempt to get into the Guinness Book of Records for the longest continuous dinner table. Nearly 2000 people sat down to dine in the Main Street of town on a night never to be forgotten.
