Non Stop Entertainment for the Weekend of Motorsport
Friday Afternoon Parade
On Friday afternoon, at approximately 11.30am preceding the race, the townsfolk of Murwillumbah line the streets of town for a special parade of cars. The cars will be leaving the show grounds and travelling through the streets under escort with a designated stop for the media and people to have a look at some of these very special cars. The parade will be stopping at Murwillumbah Services Club for a short sausage sizzle and photo opportunity. The parade will carry on through the Main St. and finish back in the showground pits where scrutinering will continue before race day.
Friday Night Street Party
The Main Street turns into the biggest street party you have ever seen with fun, entertainment from local hotels, casual dining in the many local cafes and pubs and another chance for the townsfolk to get up close and personal with the drivers and their fabulous cars. Street entertainment, fantastic cars and the people that race them is the theme for this night and the build up to race day.
Performing during the evening at the street parade is the drumming group known as The Samba Blisstas. Thundering through the streets in their wild whacky costumes and riotous red rhythms, this silly syncopated street troupe will leave you sweaty and screaming for more.
Friday night be sure not to miss the Murwillumbah Services Club Fireworks Spectacular. The fireworks will be launched from the southern side of Murwillumbah over the river for all to see. Make sure you have your spot by the river, on the bridge or perhaps enjoying a drink with friends at the Murwillumbah Services Club for what will prove to be a fantastic pyrotechnique display.
Bring Grandma bring the kids, but whatever you do DON’T MISS IT.
